John Guilford's Hiking Log
In 1989, I started recording my hikes. About a year later I started
adding times in addition to the textual description of the hike.
This gives a good reference of how long a particular party took on a particular
hike on a particular day. In an effort to make this info more accessible,
I've moved it onto the web. I have it indexed five different ways:
Examples of the different indices are shown below. Hopefully you
will find them useful.
The index by time is sorted by the round trip elapsed time (including
any stops, rests, lunch, etc.) I made. Please note that particular
hikes may have been incomplete. For example the hike 1996-09-02 is shown
as three hours, but I didn't reach the summit in that time as we turned around
early. Check the particular hike for details.
These indices and individual hike reports were generated programmatically
from my original, flat log file. If you find any typos or funny formatting,
or if you have any suggestions for improved formatting or indexing, or
if you just have any comments about it at all, please contact me
at john_guilford@keysight.com.
Pictures are here! In the indices, hikes labeled with
the
symbol have one or more pictures. The hiking log page has thumbnails
of each picture and clicking on the thumbnail presents the real image.
I hope you find this as useful as I have.
