Trailhead: 12:45 1900 0
Upper Falls: 1:45 2560 1.5
Brice Creek Trail: 2:35 2000 2.5
Trailhead: 3:00 1900 3.2
We had a little trouble getting to the trailhead as our GPS took us
on a "scenic route" to get there. We found the published directions
in a brochure we got from the Ranger Station more useful.
We did the loop in the counter clockwise direction. The trail,
"Upper Trestle Creek Trail No. 1403D" which started on the left just
past the bridge at the parking area.
The trail immediately began to switchback and wind straight up
the side of the hill. A mile and a half in we arrived at the waterfall.
We stopped there for some lunch and for photos. The falls first falls down
an undercut cliff before splashing down rocks to a pool below (where
we had lunch).
After lunch we continued down to Brice Creek Trail. There
is a side trail up to Trestle Creek Falls, but we did not go there.
A short while later we got back to the trailhead.
We saw warning signs cautioning against poison oak along the Brice
Creek trail. We didn't see any but tried to avoid vegetation just to
be on the safe side.
