The day was warm to hot, but most of the trail to/from the lake is mostly shaded.  I got there early enough that I could park in the current lot.  If I had been much later, I'd have had to park along the road as many of the folks after me had to do.  Heather Lake trail is pretty busy now since Lake 22 trail is currently closed. 

The trail is in good shape.  I was a bit surprised, though, how wet the trail was in many places.  Despite the trail's popularity, I didn't find the trail crowded.  It was a mostly peaceful hike up and back. 

When I got to the lake, I started around in a clockwise direction.  I stopped at the lake edge for a snack/lunch for about 20 minutes before continuing.  The trail goes all the way around the lake with parts of the far side being on a boardwalk. 

After going around the lake, I headed back down.
