Epilogue: Final Thoughts
Better Than Expected
Overall, the trip went much better than I expected. Based on the weather forecast, I thought we were going to be wet most of the time. Instead, we had great weather for the plane flight around Denali, and we had great weather where/when we did the two major hikes. There was a little rain around Denali Village, but very little. We got more rain during our driving, but that was fine.
I also expected us to get eaten alive by mosquitoes, but that didn’t happen either. There were a few at some of the pull-offs along the highway, where we stopped to look at the mountains, but essentially none at the Denali Park itself.
Additionally, we got two good hikes in. The wildlife tour could have been a bust, but it was one of the better ones it seems.
Overall, it really seemed like someone was looking out for us on this trip.
