I haven't been to the ice caves in decades. It is a short, easy hike in.
The day was overcast with gray skies which meant photos weren't as pretty
as they might have been.
About 1/3 of the way to the caves the trail crosses the South Fork Stillaguamish
River on a relatively new (built 2022) metal bridge.
We got to the end of the maintained (official) trail at the ice caves. We then
descended to the flats before the ice caves, found a nice rock, and had lunch.
After lunch we took an unofficial boot trail to the right of the ice caves
(kind of a continuation of the official trail) up to a smaller set of ice caves
and waterfalls. In hindsight, we think we should have had lunch up there as it
was quieter and prettier than by the main ice caves.
After some photos we headed out back to the car.
